It's not the calm waters but the turbulent waters that make a skillful sailor."
Newly inaugurated U.S. President Barack Obama now faces head on the millstone of a staggering America amidst war and economic crisis. In his inaugural address, he mentions the pressing obstacles at hand: "We are in the midst of a crisis. ... Our nation is at war. ... Our economy is badly weakened. ... Our health care is too costly. ... Our schools fail too many. ... The ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet."

He further declares: "Less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land, a nagging fear that America's decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights."
President Obama then makes an arresting and inspiring antithesis: "The challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America, they will be met," which is just exactly what America longs to hear.
The newly installed President Obama wants America to remember those who boldly and vigilantly "fought and died in places like Concord and Gettysburg; Normandy and Khe Sanh ..." to build one nation. "They saw America as bigger than the sum of our individual ambitions; greater than all the differences of birth or wealth or faction."
The whole world eagerly awaits how this regal president regains America. More and more does he gain admirers and followers all over the world.
