Alaini Reed Amini, a Sesame Street Darling, Dies of Breast Cancer

Alaina Reed-Amini, the TV actress best recognized for her role on "Sesame Street" as Olivia died at 63. Publicist Billy Laurenece confirms Reed-Amini's death on Dec. 17 at St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica after a two-year struggle with breast cancer.

Better known as Alaina Reed Hall, she remarried in 2008. Meanwhile Alaina Reed-Amini was also a Broadway star who performed in "Chicago" and "Hair."

She also appeared in "Cruel Intentions" and "Death Becomes Her," and in guest-starring roles on numerous TV shows which are: "Ally McBeal," "NYPD Blue, "ER," and "The Drew Carey Show".


Reed-Amini also starred on NBC's "227" as the landlady and best friend of the show's main character. One of the interesting episodes on the show is its final season where was shown as a bride of a character who has played by her real-life husband, Kevin Peter Hall, who then died in 1991.

Her off screen name is Bernice Reed. She was born on Nov. 10, 1946, in Springfield, Ohio.
