Texas Tech Coach Mike Leach Suspended: Ruffin McNeil Takes Over

Another coach out just in time for Red Raiders' Alamo Bowl on Jan 2. Of all dates when Texas Tech head coach is needed, Mike Leach has been suspended; while the school administration is currently investigating on the claims made by a player against Mike Leach.

Mike Leach allegedly sent one of his players who was suffering a concussion from that time to an equipment room for three hours while the practice was going on. A few days after, Adams James, son of former NFL running back and current ESPN college football analyst Craig James, was kept on an electrical closet during practice.

While MIke Leach is out and the investigation ongoing, Ruffin McNeill, a Defensive Coordinator, will take charge.

As we recall, Leach led Texas Tech to an 8-4 record this season. During the off-season, Leach was given a 5-year contract extension amounting to $12.7 million .
