Wayne Bent, also known as Michael Travesser is a spiritual leader of the sect, Strong City, which is composed of about 77 people residing in Travesser Park, near Travesser Creek in the U.S. state of New Mexico and other devotees around the world. Wayne Bent and his followers proclaim that he is the Son of God and that he with his followers are to fulfill the second coming of Jesus.
Bent, leader of The Lord Our Righteousness Church, was found guilty for criminal sexual contact of a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor that involved 14- and 16-year old sisters in 2006.
During the trial, Prosecutor Emilio Chavez stated that the case was not about religion and that Bent must be given the same treatment as everyone else.
Meanwhile, Bent's testimony includes his admission for lying naked in bed with teenage girls at the Lord Our Righteousness Church's Strong City Compound in 2006. However, he added that he touched the girls in a non-sexual manner and claimed that it was a spiritual experience.
Now that he has been proven guilty, Bent is true to his vow of not eating and he says he'll be waiting for God to take him.
