13 Oscar Nominations for "Benjamin Button"

With the Oscar update posted in Justjared.com, "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" is first in the line of contenders of Academy Awards with 13 nominations which are as follows: best picture and acting and directing honors for Brad Pitt, Taraji P. Henson, and David Fincher respectively.

Meanwhile, these are the best-picture nominees:
"The Reader," "Frost/Nixon," "Slumdog Millionaire" and "Milk."

Not surprisingly, the supporting-actor nomination goes to Heath Ledger in his performance in "The Dark Knight".

Second in the line of contenders is "Slumdog Millionaire" which has garnered 10 nominations, that consists of a directing honor for Danny Boyle and two song slots.

Let us take a close watch as couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie both will be in Oscars as Oscar nominees of "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" and "Challenging" respectively.

Another thing to take note is that the "Batman" hit movie is excluded from top categories which are best picture and director. Morever, you'll be surprised to know that Kate Winslet who won two Golden Globes, best dramatic actress for "Revolutionary Road" and supporting actress for "The Reader." is nominated for lead actress at the Oscars for "The Reader" and is not nominated for her performance in "Revolutionary Road."

Anne Hathaway for "Rachel Getting Married" and Meryl Streep for "Doubt" are also nominated for the Best Actress Award.

Competing with Brad Pitt in the best-actor award are Frank Langella, "Frost/Nixon"; Sean Penn, "Milk"; and Mickey Rourke, "The Wrestler."

I'm sure you have all your votes for "The Dark Knight," after garnering 8 nominations and for being the best film for the People's Choice Awards. But it only scored for its cinematography, editing, and its visual effects.
