The whole world just lost what actor Edward James Olmos said,"one of the true giants of arts and culture: Ricardo Montalban." Typecast as a Latin lover and who later became widely loved for his performance in Star Trek II: the Wrath of Khan as Khan Noonian Sing, Ricardo Montalban has been a very much respected actor who has inspired aspiring Latino actors among many others.
According to Olmos, Montalban exhibited great love and understanding of culture and such was greatly shown in his performances.
His early beginnings as an actor ranged back in 1940's when he accepted the role of bullfighter in "Fiesta". He performed together with big movie stars Clark Gable and Lana Turner.
He later received a break as a stage performer and a TV host of ABC's hit program "Fantasy Island". He was also an Emmy awardee for his astounding performance in "How the West Was Won" as Chief Stangkai. Besides that, he was also a Csrysler endorser

"Fantasy Island" actor Ricardo Montalban died Wednesday morning in L.A. to old age medical problems. Among his benevolent contributions, Montalban is the founder of Nosotros Foundation, a nonprofit organization that seeks to improve the quality of employment and exposure of Latinos in Hollywood.
